At present, consumption has become the main driving force of my country's economic growth.

Against the backdrop of the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, the rural market with a permanent population of 500 million has huge potential and is an important starting point for expanding domestic demand and stabilizing growth in the future.

However, Wang Yu found in his research that at present, young and middle-aged people in rural areas are migrating to work in cities, and the phenomenon of population outflow is more prominent. The outflow of rural population leads to the reduction of consumers, which is the primary "blocking point" restricting the rural consumer market.

Taking Xiushan County, Chongqing as an example, about 200,000 rural young and middle-aged people go out to work, accounting for one-third of the county's population. Most of the people who stay in the countryside are old, weak, women and children. Their daily consumption is mainly concentrated on daily necessities, which restricts rural consumption. market development.

Wang Yu suggested that employment channels should be further broadened, public service posts in urban areas and townships be targeted to absorb rural residents with difficulties in employment, do a good job in the construction of leading agriculture-related enterprises, attract surplus rural labor to employment, and increase rural residents' income.

Further improve the infrastructure of rural towns to attract rural population and non-agricultural industries to concentrate in towns.

Strengthen the construction of rural commercial and trade infrastructure, coordinate the promotion of the construction and upgrading of county and township farmers' markets, commercial centers, and rural supermarkets, and introduce high-value incentive policies to improve the level of rural consumption.

Improve the construction of the circulation system, do a good job in the construction of rural roads, and build a complete logistics distribution network. Relevant departments will provide subsidies and policy support for the operation of rural logistics stations, and open up the "last mile" of entering villages and households.

In recent years, tapping the potential of rural consumption has been the focus of policy promotion.

Wang Yu believes that bulk consumer goods should be promoted to go to the countryside. By holding commodity fairs and consumer festivals, we should promote the upgrading of bulk consumer goods such as automobiles, home appliances, and mobile phones, and promote the expansion and upgrading of rural consumption.

At the same time, policy support for the purchase of bulk commodities in rural areas has been strengthened, and the central government has increased subsidies for the purchase of consumer electronics, home appliances, and agricultural machinery, and continued to tap the potential of rural consumption.

At present, there are still problems in rural areas such as insufficient security level and unbalanced regional development, and the consumer psychology of "saving money for retirement" and "saving money for medical treatment" still exists.

In response to this, Wang Yu suggested that the construction of various security systems in rural areas should be strengthened to eliminate farmers' consumption concerns and further release the consumption potential of rural areas.

Expand the coverage of rural endowment insurance, do a good job in the dynamic monitoring of rural low-income population, and expand the coverage of groups such as migrant workers, flexible employees, and new business practitioners.

Improve the medical assistance system, improve the rural medical and health service system, further expand the scope of major disease insurance, increase temporary assistance for needy groups, and alleviate the problem of difficult and expensive medical treatment for farmers.
