Chinanews.com, Shenzhen, January 2 (Reporter Guo Jun) China Southern Airlines' Shenzhen-Amsterdam route officially opened on January 2.

The inaugural flight CZ8091 took off from Shenzhen Airport at 1:50 on the same day.

This is the first international route opened by China Southern Airlines in Shenzhen after the epidemic prevention and control entered a new stage, and it is also the first direct flight route from Shenzhen Airport to the Netherlands.

It is understood that the route operates twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, and is operated by an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.

The outbound journey departs from Shenzhen at 01:50 and arrives in Amsterdam at 08:00 local time. The return journey departs from Amsterdam at 14:10 local time and arrives in Shenzhen at 09:00 the next day.

It is understood that due to the impact of the Civil Aviation Administration of China's "Notice on Resuming the Work Plan for International Passenger Flights" and the need to return to China during the Spring Festival, the sales of international return air tickets are booming.

At present, the return tickets to Amsterdam on January 9 are about to be sold out, and there are still tickets left on January 11.

With the recovery of the international aviation market, the overall transport capacity is gradually increasing, and the round-trip fares of international routes are relatively affordable.

China Southern Airlines reminds passengers that since the departure time from Shenzhen to Amsterdam is 1:50 in the morning, passengers need to arrive at Shenzhen Airport to check-in the night before the departure date.

Passengers going to Amsterdam need to prepare a Schengen visa in advance and hold a passport valid for more than three months. If passengers transit to other countries via Amsterdam, they need to prepare the visa of the destination country.

As of the end of December 2022, China Southern Airlines has resumed four international routes in Shenzhen, including routes from Shenzhen to Jakarta, Moscow, Dubai, and Singapore.

With the opening of the Shenzhen-Amsterdam direct route, China Southern Airlines operates five international routes in Shenzhen.

In 2023, China Southern Airlines Shenzhen Branch is gradually promoting the resumption of routes in the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and other places, and plans to increase the number of flights in Indonesia, continue to strengthen the connectivity with cities highly related to Shenzhen's industry, and build a smoother way to promote high-level opening up air passage.
