VTC customers will see the price of the races increase in 2023. The driver unions and the platforms must sign an agreement in mid-January to establish the minimum price of a race of less than 2 kilometers at 9 euros net.

An increase appreciated by professionals, but which remains insufficient in their eyes.

On January 1, 2023, the Navigo pass and the prices charged by the SNCF will increase.

But that's not all.

From mid-January, the prices of VTC races should also rise.

Indeed, the drivers' unions and the platforms have reached an agreement, reveals

Le Parisien

.

From now on, the minimum price for a race of less than 2 kilometers is set at 9 euros.

Enough to ensure drivers 7.65 euros net in their pocket.

The remaining 1.35 euro corresponds to the commission pocketed by the VTC platform.

Currently, the minimum prices vary between 6 and 10 euros - at Uber for example, it is 8 euros for the customer.

At Heetch and Bolt, it was already around 10 euros.

For the drivers' unions, this remains insufficient

The agreement with the unions is to be signed in mid-January 2023, closely monitored by the Employment Platforms Social Relations Authority (ARPE).

Does this increase satisfy the drivers?

No.

They were hoping for 10 euros net in their pocket, excluding commission.

For them, these long negotiations represent progress, but it remains insufficient.

“We will be satisfied, for the moment, with these 7.65 euros, but we will not let go”, assured Parisian Arnaud Desdonner, the secretary general of the Association of VTC de France (AVF).
