China News Agency, Beijing, December 30 (Reporter Zhao Jianhua) According to data released by the Ministry of Finance of China on the 30th, in November, a total of 51.844 billion yuan (RMB, the same below) was sold nationwide, an increase of 56.6% year-on-year (the same below).

Among them, the sales of welfare lottery institutions were 13.078 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.8%; the sales of sports lottery institutions were 38.766 billion yuan, an increase of 94.6%, mainly driven by the Football World Cup.

Cumulatively from January to November, a total of 362.803 billion yuan of lottery tickets were sold nationwide, an increase of 6.4%.

Among them, the sales of welfare lottery institutions were 136.300 billion yuan, an increase of 6.5%; the sales of sports lottery institutions were 226.503 billion yuan, an increase of 6.3%.

According to the Ministry of Finance, from January to November, the sales volume of major lottery types fluctuated year-on-year due to factors such as the delisting of high-frequency quick-play games, promotion of lottery prizes, expansion of the sales scope of Keno-type lottery tickets, and the Football World Cup.

Cumulatively from January to November, compared with the same period last year, lottery sales in 24 provinces increased, of which Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Hubei increased more.

In November, except for Tibet, lottery sales in other provinces all increased, with Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and Sichuan increasing the most.

The Ministry of Finance requires lottery organizations at all levels to closely track and analyze new situations and new problems, strengthen lottery issuance and sales, and ensure the smooth operation of the market.

The Ministry of Finance also recently issued an announcement that from January 19 to January 28, 2023, the Spring Festival lottery market will be closed for 10 days; from October 1 to October 4, 2023, the market will be closed for 4 days for the National Day.

During the market break, except for the instant lottery, the sales, drawing and prize redemption of other types of lottery games across the country will be stopped.
