“Taking into account the current shortage of pipeline gas in Europe and the recovery of demand in China, the additional burden on the LNG market in the next one or two years will be at least 60-70 million tons,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying at the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Baku.

Mikhelson added that until 2026 the world does not plan to introduce new large volumes of LNG.

“In 2023, projects for 18 million tons will be introduced in the world, in 2024 - 11 million tons, in 2025 about the same,” he said.

Mikhelson stressed that the current winter could be the easiest of the next three, as the storage facilities managed to fill up.

Earlier, the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, said that Europe's refusal to supply Russian energy resources threatens 6.5-11% of the EU's GDP and about 16 million jobs.
