A symposium was held in Tokyo to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the merger of Keidanren (Japan Federation of Economic Organizations) in 2002 and the former Nikkeiren, which is made up of corporate managers, in order to tackle the revitalization of the Japanese economy. .

About 380 people from member companies participated in the symposium, and Keidanren Chairman Tokura commented, "I am proud that the opinions of the business community were conveyed from a broader perspective and were reflected in many government policies. This is one of the great achievements of the integration of the two organizations."

In addition to national economic policy, the current Keidanren makes recommendations to the government on social security and labor issues that the former Nikkeiren was responsible for before the merger.

At the symposium, Hiroshi Yoshikawa, Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo, and corporate executives serving as executives of Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) looked back on the situation in which the Japanese economy continued to stagnate over the past 20 years, in contrast to the growth of the global economy.

On top of that, it was pointed out that Keidanren should hold repeated dialogues with the government and realize deregulation in order to lead to future growth.

As prices continue to rise, Keidanren's stance is attracting attention even in discussions on corporate wage hikes. I would like to support the development of the Japanese economy while changing the management mindset to a more aggressive one."
