Right now, sugar beets are entering the harvest season. In a field in Nileke County, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, Zhang Wenhua, who has 6 years of experience in sugar beet planting, is a beneficiary of contract farming.

The purchase price of sugar beet signed with the buyer at the beginning of the year is the same as before across the four seasons.

In addition to stable income from sugar beets, the price of radishes purchased has also risen slightly.

While Xinjiang has unique natural advantages and a long history of planting, it has introduced foreign excellent varieties and advanced technologies, and used good irrigation technology to increase sugar beet production year by year.

At present, Xinjiang's sugar beet production scale and efficiency have a leading position in China.

It is understood that in 2022, Xinjiang beet planting area will be about 1.1 million mu. The "company + farmer" beet production and operation model makes the relationship between enterprises and beet farmers more stable and close, thereby increasing farmers' income.
