GITEX witnesses the launch of hybrid flying vehicles and bicycles

The 42nd edition of GITEX Global, which started at the Dubai World Trade Center yesterday, witnessed the launch of models for smart future mobility systems, which are one of the most prominent aspects and trends of the exhibition in its new session.

On a tour of the exhibition, "Emirates Today" monitored a number of smart mobility systems on display, which included flying vehicles and hybrid bikes, in addition to self-driving electric cars powered by the fifth generation network.

Marwan Bin Shukr, Senior Vice President of Technology Solutions at E&E, said that the Corporation presented, through its platform at the exhibition, many models of smart future mobility systems.

Bin Shukr explained that the most prominent of these models is a self-driving electric aircraft vehicle in the form of "large drones", working with the technology of the fifth generation network, noting that the vehicle, whose outer structure was made of carbon fiber, is suitable for riding two people.

He added that the vehicle, designed for the purposes of government institutions, operates at speeds of up to 130 kilometers per hour, and flies at altitudes ranging between 1,000 and 1,500 meters.

Bin Shukr stated that the Foundation revealed, during "GITEX Global", vehicles called "Ultra Skippers" that operate on the smart remote-controlled vehicle system.

He pointed out that "Etisalat" also introduced a flying bike that works with the hybrid system (electricity and petrol), explaining that the new bike operates at speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.

For its part, the company "Xping" announced, through its platform at the exhibition, yesterday, the launch of a fully electric flying car called "X2E Vitol", and it works with a vertical take-off and landing system.

During the launch of the vehicle model, the company explained that the vehicle's flight level is under 1,000 metres, while allowing two passengers to be carried in its cabin with a total weight of up to 200 kilograms, while the weight of the empty vehicle is 560 kilograms.

She added that the exterior structure of the vehicle was made of carbon fiber, as its structure was designed in a smart streamlined manner to allow driving and flying quickly and smoothly.

Marwan Bin Shukr, Senior Vice President of Technology Solutions at E&E Communications, said that the corporation has presented, through its GITEX platform, a model of a self-driving electric car called "Inner Space", manufactured under the "Cadillac" brand, indicating that it works through a system of technologies. Networks through fully electric autonomous driving systems to support reduced carbon emissions.
