A "company train" to replace the company car?

SNCF is considering this alternative, which could be implemented in 2024. This idea would make it possible to "respond to the challenges of sustainable development, while providing advantages comparable to the company car", indicated Tuesday the director of TGV-Intercités, Alain Krakovitch.

“It still remains to be built,” he added, however.

The manager is considering “an end-to-end offer” which would allow, “probably within the framework of mobility credit”, to combine public transport – obviously the train –, “soft mobility” and car rental.

Towards more eco-responsible mobility

“There are a lot of individual company cars in France”, explained Alain Krakovitch, evoking a figure of “2.8 million”.

"I find it interesting to think about an alternative that we could offer to companies that themselves would like to be able to offer their senior managers other solutions that better meet the growing aspirations of more eco-responsible mobility," he said. precise.

More generally, discussions with key accounts show that executives do not necessarily have a license, find the company car impractical or "are not always comfortable" with the idea of having a professional vehicle, even hybrid or electric, he noted.

To set up the initiative, the TGV-Intercités marketing department is working with client companies and “BtoH” specialists (exchanges between employers and employees, such as Ticket Restaurant), he noted.

A gradual launch is envisaged from 2024.
