We looked at the commemorative events held in both countries, and this time, let's take a look at what China has looked like in our eyes over the past 30 years.

As a result of analyzing big data such as media articles and comments, we found that negative sentiment toward China has grown over the past decade.

Reporter Jeong Hye-jin explains the details.

SBS has analyzed about 350,000 Chinese-related articles from data analysis companies and major Korean media outlets over the past 30 years.

The three major keywords related to China were North Korea, the United States, and Xi Jinping.

In the case of North Korea, it is analyzed that it was discussed a lot in anticipation of China's role in North Korea policy in the early stage of establishment of diplomatic ties.

After the US-China war for hegemony began, the keyword of the United States appeared widely.

President Xi Jinping has maintained the No. 1 spot in China's news keywords since his appearance.

In particular, the number of mentions of China along with the United States has more than doubled since the beginning of diplomatic ties.

China's status as G2 is also confirmed by our media data.

We also analyzed changes in the public sentiment of the Korean people over the past 10 years.

480,000 comments on 3,600 articles are eligible.

As a result, on the graph, it can be seen that anti-Chinese sentiment is getting worse as THAAD, Han-Han-Ryeong, Corona, etc. all go through four junctions.

In particular, hate comments against China are on the rise due to the corona crisis.

[Kim Seo-jin: The country that is the starting point of fine dust and corona (I think….)]

[Park Seo-kyung: A tendency to imitate K-pop culture (I see…)] [Jung A-yeon: A

little bit in terms of system and environment Feeling less cared...

.]

[Lee Jae-kwon: It seems that Korea is being taken away from China, even the THAAD issue…

.]

News titles are grouped by topic.

When measuring anti-Chinese sentiment, it can be seen that while the corona is gradually decreasing, it is increasing in other fields.

[Kang Tae-young / Underscore CEO: We have confirmed that the number of comments specifically targeting China has increased, rather than people becoming aggressive towards all foreigners during the Corona pandemic.]

After the two countries first held hands 30 years ago, there has been a partnership for a while. As China is rapidly growing economically and culturally, it is now a competitor, and negative sentiment is growing.
