JR West, which has been in the red for two consecutive years until last year due to the influence of the new corona, announced on the 1st that it will reorganize the organization centered on the restructuring of branch offices in the Kinki and Chugoku regions.



In this plan, we will set up a new "China General Headquarters" in Hiroshima and consolidate the functions of the general affairs departments of Hiroshima, Okayama, and the Yonago branch in Tottori prefecture.



In addition, the Wakayama branch office and the Fukuchiyama branch office in Kyoto Prefecture will also be integrated into the "Kinki General Headquarters" in Osaka City.



The company will not directly reduce personnel due to this reorganization, but it is said that personnel expenses for about 360 people can be reduced by suppressing new hiring, etc., and there will be a reduction effect of about 2 billion yen next fiscal year. I expect.



On the other hand, departments such as station staff and crew members involved in normal railway operations and emergency response, as well as departments that serve as contact points with local communities, will remain at their respective bases, and the system will remain unchanged.



The organizational reform will be carried out in October this year.
