This is a first for the Tesla brand ... Last September, in the United States, a woman gave birth in her car while she was stuck in traffic.
Her husband was able to assist her thanks in particular to the Autopilot system, reports
The Philadelphia Inquirer
, relayed by Presse-Citron.
On September 9, as the couple took their son to school, the 33-year-old mother lost water on the way.
The nearest hospital was only a 20 minute drive away… The catch?
Rush hour and its terrible traffic jams.
To help his wife as best as possible, the father entered the address of the maternity hospital in the GPS and let the Autopilot system do the rest.
Birth in front of the hospital
As soon as she arrived in front of the hospital, the young woman gave birth to her baby girl.
The nurses, who rushed to the car, cut the umbilical cord in the family Tesla.
Then, the newborn and the mother could be taken care of by the medical profession.
Even though the couple thought about calling their baby girl Tess, they stuck with their first choice: Maeve Lily.
She is of course nicknamed "the Tesla baby".
The father, for his part, did not fail to thank the brand's engineers for "their brilliant design of the Autopilot".
