<Anchor> While the

demand for food delivery has increased, there has been a continuous controversy over discrimination against delivery workers in some apartment complexes. It was confirmed that the human rights commission, which received a complaint from the delivery men 8 months ago, regarded it as a personal conflict and recently decided to dismiss it.

This is the exclusive report by reporter Han Sang-woo.

<Reporter> It

is a high-rise mixed-use apartment complex in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

To deliver food here, motorcycles must park outside and walk.

[Motorcycles must be parked outside. (It's at the traffic light outside.)]

There are several elevators right in front of the lobby, but you have to take the freight elevator with only one deliveryman.

The apartment side explained that there were a lot of contact accidents in front of the front door, so they blocked the entry of motorcycles, and explained that they had to take the freight elevator because of concerns about the corona 19 infection.

The deliverymen claimed it was clear discrimination.

[Mr. Kim / Food Delivery Man: Deliver comfortably and go… (That's fine) We're not stealing anything... .]

[Mo. Yoo/Food Delivery Man: Delivery drivers say that when residents get on the elevator, they smell like food… .]

An apartment in Incheon where delivery motorcycles were only allowed to go to the underground parking lot, which led to a delivery refusal.

Deliverymen are still not allowed to go to the first floor.

Delivery workers who could not stand the discrimination filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission of Korea earlier this year.

I waited for over 8 months and put a glimmer of hope, but the conclusion was rejected.

It was confirmed that the Human Rights Commission rejected the decision last month, saying, "It should be viewed as a private conflict, not as a violation of human rights by the state or public institutions."

The apartment complex and the delivery man are supposed to solve it on their own, but there doesn't seem to be much the delivery man in Eul's position can do.
