two days, more than 2 trillion won was paid out in the 'Restoration of Hope Fund' for small business owners who suffered great damage from COVID-19. However, dozens of academies in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do were unable to receive subsidies on time due to the absurd mistake of the competent government office.

Reporter Kim Jung-woo covered the circumstances.

Mr. A has been running a private academy in Gimpo for three years.

In the meantime, I have received disaster aid four times, and I thought it would be paid this time as well, but I didn't receive a text message to apply for the subsidy.

I inquired several times to the city hall and the education office, but only the answer "I don't know why" came back.

In frustration, I looked at the nearby academies and found that there were more than 70 places where they did not receive a text message for applying for a subsidy.

As the protests continued, the Gimpo Office of Education began to investigate the cause, and it was revealed that the entire school operators were omitted from the list of subjects to be sent to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

If we had waited, we could not have received the subsidy.

[Mr. A/Academy Manager: I must have waited because I thought, 'I have a problem.' (By the way) Even if you waited, the list was not submitted. I must have been missing again.] The

Office of Education sent a text message to inform the school administrators of the omission and apologize, but some subjects were also omitted here.

[Mr./Academic administrator: Some people did not even receive the text message. There were also teachers who were missing. So the second time, another text message went.] The

Gimpo Office of Education said, "I omitted the list by mistake, and I will make sure to receive the subsidy on the 30th."

However, he did not disclose why the list was not sent.

Due to the careless mistake of the Office of Education, small business owners who are in a hurry to receive subsidies have had to wait two more weeks.
