As the infection of the new coronavirus continues to spread, manufacturers are developing new technologies that allow them to enjoy images from a free perspective.

Of these, Canon opened a studio in Kawasaki City in July, which introduced a new video technology.

This technology is called "Volumemetric" and is expected to be used in events and sports broadcasts because you can enjoy images from a free perspective by reproducing the data of people and objects taken from all angles in three dimensions. ..

Noh was filmed on that day, and about 100 cameras were working to capture the movements of the Noh performers and combine them with the 3D images of the stage.

Atsushi Date, senior executive of the Canon Image Solutions Business Headquarters, said, "We can create innovative images that were not possible with conventional shooting methods. We want you to enjoy the uniqueness of these images."

Sony has also set up a new studio in Tokyo that utilizes this technology.

By reproducing 3D data of buildings and downtown areas with high image quality and shooting with people, you can create an image as if you were in that place.

Daisuke Kobayashi, director of the Sony PCL Visual Innovation Office, said, "Even if the movement is restricted due to the spread of infection, new images can be produced. I want you to use it for shooting movies and events."
