Housing starts in July fell by over 10% for 4 consecutive months August 31 at 15:53

The number of housing starts nationwide in July decreased by more than 11% compared to the same month last year due to the influence of the new coronavirus. A drop of more than 10% will be the fourth consecutive month.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the number of housing starts nationwide in July was 72,232 units, a decrease of 11.4% compared to the same month last year.

This is the 13th consecutive month of decline, and the drop of more than 10% is the 4th consecutive month.

Looking at the breakdown, the
largest decline was in “owned homes,” which indicates custom-built homes, down 13.6% to 22,708 units.

27,784 units, and "Rental houses" such as built-for-sale houses decreased by 11.8% to 19,359 units.
