Temporarily closed to 16,000 employees ANA Holdings April 15 22:30

ANA Airlines, a major airline company, will significantly reduce the number of flights due to the spread of the new coronavirus, so it will expand the number of employees temporarily suspended. The target number is 16,000, including cabin crew and employees working at the airport, which is one-third of the group.

Due to the spread of new coronavirus infection, each country has restricted entry to Japan. Currently, about 90% of international flights and about 50% of domestic flights are suspended or reduced in flight.

For this reason, the company has closed 6400 flight attendants from ANA this month for a few days a month per person, but has decided to expand the scope even further.

New targets are employees of indirect departments in charge of accounting and human resources at ANA, as well as employees of group companies that serve customers at airport check-in counters and load luggage on aircraft.

Including cabin crew, the number of employees on leave is 16,000, which is one-third of the entire group.

The company has explained that this is a measure to protect employment, and it is said that employees will be paid leave allowances by utilizing employment adjustment subsidies.
