Business owners said that during the past days they have received a letter bearing the logo of the Federal Tax Authority exploiting the conditions of companies due to the implications of the emerging Corona virus and inviting them to receive refunds from the value-added tax that they paid earlier.

According to the message, the fraudsters asked the recipients of the messages to quickly enter a link that was attached to collect the amount and claimed that delaying implementation might cancel the refund.

It is noteworthy that the Federal Tax Authority warned last December against responding to similar messages reaching some people via e-mail or text messages, through which personal or financial data is requested, on the pretext that VAT will be refunded to recipients of messages, stressing that the authority does not ask people In any case, disclose their information through messages.
