The prices of road fuels sold in French service stations fell sharply again last week, in the wake of crude prices affected by the coronavirus epidemic, according to official figures published on Monday.

The price of diesel, the best-selling fuel, reached 1.4028 euros per liter, down 3.15 cents from the previous week, according to data from the Ministry of Ecological and Inclusive Transition. You have to go back to January 2019 to find a lower level.

The unleaded petrol 95 sold 1.4989 euros, down 1.71 cents. The SP95-E10, which contains up to 10% ethanol, was displayed at 1.4727 euros, or 1.87 cents less. Finally, the SP 98 reached 1.5604 euros, down 1.71 cents.

Concern over the coronavirus epidemic

Prices of fuel at the pump vary according to several parameters such as the price of a barrel of oil, the euro-dollar exchange rate, the level of stocks of petroleum products and demand, as well as taxes.

Oil prices are currently moving lower, affected by concerns over Chinese demand due to the coronavirus epidemic.

A barrel of Brent North Sea crude for April delivery was worth $ 54.20 in London on Monday morning, the lowest in over a year.
