It was later revealed that an actor from a famous idol group turned himself in to the police after taking part in a voice phishing crime.

The Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency's anti-corruption and economic crime investigation team announced today (12th) that they had booked a male actor in his 30s without detention on charges of fraud.

Person A is accused of trying to deliver 6 million won to another cash collection book after being handed 6 million won from Mr. B, who was deceived by a voice phishing crime on the 16th of last month.

On the day of the incident, it was confirmed that Mr. A saw an article on the Internet saying 'There is a high-paying part-time job' and started working.

However, after Mr. A handed over the money to the victim, he realized that what he was doing was a cash collection job for a voice phishing organization, and found the Gyeonggi Yeoju Police Station and surrendered himself.

It is known that the amount of damage was returned to Mr. B.

Mr. A made a statement to the effect that "with no significant income, he became involved in the saying that he had a high-paying part-time job."

The police found out that Mr. B had been involved in three voice phishing crimes, and arrested three additional people, including a cash collector who took part in two other crimes in addition to the case of Mr. A.

The police plan to forward the case to the prosecution as soon as the investigation is complete.
