A former sex offender who sneaks into the homes of women living in the same apartment has been fined.

According to the legal community today (18th), the 4th Criminal Division of the Daejeon District Court (Judge Kim Seong-jun) sentenced a 42-year-old man A, charged with trespassing, a fine of 7 million won.

At about 9:30 pm on July 15, last year, in a hallway apartment in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, Mr. A was sent to trial for sitting in front of the front door of a neighboring woman's house and peeking inside the screen by putting her face close to the screen.

He was also known to have taken off the window screens of the woman's house on the other floor around 10 o'clock on the same night and looked inside.

In November 2013, it was confirmed that Mr. A was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison and 4 years of probation for violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (house invasion, rape, etc.).

During the trial, Mr. A insisted, "I just lifted the screen because it was strange, and I had no intention of peeking into the victims' homes."

However, the court ruled that "the part of the hallway in front of the house belongs to the victims' residences," and "A's actions seriously infringed on the victims' housing peace."

He continued, "The fact that Mr. A's body did not directly enter the victims' residences can be viewed as an advantageous normal. I did it," he said, explaining the reason for his sentencing.
