The CEO of an entertainment agency, who is accused of intimidating aspiring foreign celebrities, has been handed over to the prosecution.

According to the police yesterday (8th), the Seocho Police Station in Seoul arrested and sent a 33-year-old CEO of an entertainment agency, who is charged with intimidation and attempted blackmail, on the 7th of last month.

Person A is accused of intimidating foreign model B, who belongs to the agency she is representing, with the intention of 'I will contact the immigration office to cancel my visa if I do not listen'.

Person A is also accused of demanding an amount that is not in the contract (attempted blackmail), saying that if the conditions of the contract such as distribution of income are not changed to Mr. B, he will have to pay 100 million won in damages.

Mr. A proposed modeling activities to Mr. B through SNS, and Mr. B, who agreed to this, came to Korea on March last year with an E-6 visa.

The E-6 visa is issued to foreigners who wish to work in fields such as music, art, entertainment, and sports for the purpose of profit.

It is reported that Mr. A has been making unreasonable demands using this as an excuse when it is time to extend Mr. B's visa.

A was also accused of embezzlement, but the police dismissed it as not guilty.

This is a 'news pick'.
