The mayor of Pont-Sainte-Maxence, Arnaud Dumontier, is keen to keep the streets of his town clean.

It is in this sense that he issued a fine of 537 euros to a resident who did not pick up the droppings of his two dogs.

"It's not hard enough (...). It's a lack of civility. The dogs do their business in the street, I pick up, even if I have two or three. I don't see myself put your feet in it,” he explains to Pascal Praud.
