Maja Dahlqvist and Frida Karlsson have cleared the air with Anders Byström: "We are still friends"

It was in an interview with Viaplay that the trio recently told that they felt that the national team was not interested in their investments.

- Actually, we only answered one question, "if you have had any contact?".

We haven't had that much, but I don't see that I really wanted to have much contact either.

I might have wished that we had decided something before, how we should have it, says Frida Karlsson.

Last week, the breakout trio met national team manager Anders Byström in Idre, a meeting that had been planned in advance.

- It was good.

We probably relaxed a bit about what we thought and what he thought about the headline that came out.

He interpreted it one way and we meant another way maybe.

It was good to clear my mind a bit, says Maja Dahlqvist.

- This wouldn't have become a big deal if we had just had a little talk every now and then, it doesn't have to be a big deal.

We are still friends, we will be in the same organization and work this winter, says Karlsson.

You chose to step outside the national team, did you expect them to contact you continuously?

- Basically, I think that we are leaving the national team for a reason, and I have been very clear about what I see that needs to be developed in order for it to become such a good place that I want to be part of it.

I would have liked to hear back about that entire dialogue.

Is it something they are even thinking about, are they taking action on, or is it even something they have brought with them?

It was this spring that Dahlqvist and Karlsson, together with Linn Svahn, decided to make their own investment towards the upcoming WC season, among other things because the structure of the national team was not optimal for them.

Now Dahlqvist feels that the national team has accepted their wishes for change.

- I think so, that's the feeling I got now.

What is it above all that needs to change?

- It is difficult to say in one sentence, it is a whole.

Everyone should get the most out of being at camp and working towards goals together.

You must be able to follow your common thread and everyone must be able to do that at camp.
