Series leader Rosengård has tightened their grip on the SM gold with three rounds left in the season.

Challenger Häcken did what they could today to keep the excitement alive, when they beat Piteå at home at Bravida Arena.

Norrbottningar struck first when Hanna Andersson nicely made it 1-0 in the 16th minute.

Her fourth goal of the season.

Shortly afterwards, Häcken equalized through Anna Anvegård, who went straight to the volley after a pass from the left wing.

There was then irritation in the Piteå camp who believed that the goal should have been disallowed due to offside, but the refereeing team stood by their decision.

Both teams then had chances to break the deadlock, but it was the home team who took command in the 63rd minute when Anna Sandberg shot 2-1, via the foot of defender Maja Green.

"Deservedly took the lead"

The nail in the coffin came with barely 20 minutes left when national team meritorious Anvegård scored his second goal of the match.

With a quick body trick, she pulled in from her defender and screwed in 3-1 via the post.

- Great to win this match.

In the first half we didn't get our pressing game going and they created a lot and deservedly took the lead.

Then in the second half we scored two goals and won quite comfortably in the end, says Anvegård to Viaplay.

Häcken climbs from third to second place in the table, but is still four points behind Rosengård, who play later today against fourth place Kristianstad.

In the next round, Häcken faces AIK at home.
