“We did it on our own, by working together.

No additional coaches were invited for this.

In principle, we have a support specialist, but initially all the ideas were ours.

Not to mention the fact that in the original version of the free dance they were completely different for the guys.

We trained them for two months, but it did not turn out the way we wanted.

So everything had to be redone.

And the work is still going on.

- If we compare the current performance of Kaganovskaya and Angelopol with how they looked at open rentals, what pleased you the most?

- I think the guys skated more clearly and widely and gave more image.

All this added confidence, although the jambs were also present.

- Elena Anatolyevna Chaikovskaya highly praised your wards after the rhythm dance, but noted that there is still a touch of junior in their skating.

- It `s naturally.

I constantly push Vasilisa and Valery, rush them, but at the same time I understand that the time has not come to expect some kind of masterful performance from the guys.

They've only been riding together for three years.

Vasilisa came from St. Petersburg, Valery is a Moscow boy.

I paired them almost intuitively: I felt that they would suit each other.

Last season, the guys performed at the Junior Grand Prix.

And what we have been able to do is already very much.

Moreover, in terms of technique, they differed greatly when they paired up - from childhood they were trained in different ways.

Until now, it is sometimes noticeable that they do not coincide too much with each other in some things, although we are working on this a lot.

When people ride the same way, it gives both speed and breadth and a sense of partnership.

- The development of these qualities - first of all, the number of hours?

- Yes.

A set of watches that I don't have.

Probably, it makes no sense to talk about this already, since everyone is tired of hearing this from me, but we really don’t have enough ice.

Ideally, I need an hour so that Vasilisa and Valery can just skate and practice sliding.

Plus three hours to work on the programs.

Plus two - in the hall.

Then we would get a perfectly built training process, and progress would be completely different.

Now it is also great, but it seems to me that if a couple is considered talented, promising, and they want something from her in terms of results, we should at least try to create conditions.

For now, we are content with what we have.

- Now it is customary for coaches to unite in fairly powerful teams, although the same Chaikovskaya said that she did not really understand this format.

Who are you working with?

— With Grigory Smirnov.

Before that, she collaborated with Oleg Ovsyannikov, for a number of reasons, our joint work did not work out, although we remained great friends.

In general, I'm used to taking everything on myself.

Moreover, I feel good about Kaganovskaya and Angelopol, they follow me, they trust me.

If there is a need to additionally invite an acrobat, ballroom dancer or music specialist for classes, we do it.

In this regard, I really like to work with masters of their craft.

- Vangelis, to the music of which Kaganovskaya and Angelopol staged a free dance, is a rather mature story.

Were you not afraid that athletes might not be able to cope with it?

- Well, since we decided to compete in the current season for adults, we need to comply.

I really wanted to change the style of the duet, move away from gentle romance towards something more rhythmic.

This particular music lay with me for ten years and was waiting for its performer.

And at some point it suddenly dawned on me: the images fit!

Another advantage of the program is that you can come up with a lot of creative elements to oriental music.

Still, the classics are more conducive to the purity of the lines and, accordingly, are very obliging.

- As a coach, are you not afraid to look at the students when they perform support in a rotation with a partner head down?

- Worrying.

It's not just about head down.

According to the rules, there must be a hard exit from the rotation in order to get the fourth level of difficulty.

Therefore, Valery gets into the boat, makes a difficult turn.

In addition, you need to meet the set time, that is, at a certain moment, not earlier and not later, take your foot off the ice - there is a lot of everything that you have to control.

Therefore, in training, when the guys worked out this support, Grigory and I tracked everything with two stopwatches in our hands.

- Would you like to have the opportunity to perform not at two stages of the Grand Prix, as it is now prescribed by the regulations, but more often?

- Of course.

We have very few competitions before the Russian Championship.

Therefore, we are looking for any opportunity to start.

Let it be some kind of regional starts, but they should be.

It is necessary to roll the program, but it rolls only at tournaments.

In training, this effect cannot be achieved, no matter how hard you work.
