Glenn Solberg's leadership style is in many ways classic Swedish, even though he is Norwegian.

The collective, the common framework, the team before the self and the pride of representing blue and yellow are clear keys.

And that, despite the results, is what the 50-year-old prefers to talk about.

- This is a very, very good result.

Unexpected, I must say.

But as I see it, the results are fantastic but also the performance in what we do and the way we play.

The way we appear, the team feeling we have developed, the work everyone puts in to make the team as good as possible.

Everyone makes sacrifices and is loyal to what we agreed upon.

That's what I think is the best and am most proud of.

Corona chaos during the championships

The leadership has been put to extra tests during the championships played.

The Covid virus has affected the team to the greatest extent and during the European Championship last spring it was a little chaotic when basically all Swedish key players tested positive and were forced to rest some matches.

- Two special years, with challenges for everyone.

What we talked about in Eskilstuna before the WC (2021) was to focus on what we can influence, everything else we just have to let come.

It is impressive, from the players above all, especially in the EC (in January) when the players were told in the morning if they had Corona or not.

They lay at night and mined and received both good and bad news.

In retrospect, I have thought that it put a greater burden on the players than on us coaches.
