Michelle Karvinen has won three SM golds with Luleå and won the points league in the SDHL just as many times.

The 32-year-old was one of the leading figures in Luleå's journey towards the top on the women's side and is happy to be part of Frölunda's start-up.

- It is very special, a very unique situation.

It is history that is in the making and that has been written now, you get to enjoy it a little along the way.

We are in the second division, but this could be huge for many hockey girls.

Luleå is something very special to me, but we need more clubs.

"It's going to be a bit tough"

On Sunday, the newly created team played a long-awaited historic premiere in the NDHL, Division 1 South.

The 10-0 result against the series' on paper toughest opposition testifies that there will be many uneven matches.

Karvinen was loaned to Malmö last season.

In ten games, she accounted for a whopping 47 points and has some experience at the level of the league.

- It will be a bit shaky, I think.

So it will be a bit tough, but we have to be humble.

You won't win if you don't go in and do your best.

Olsson in the club in his heart

Hanna Olsson was the women's crowns' point queen in the WC and has dreamed of playing for Frölunda since she was little.

She believes that stepping down a division was not a difficult decision.

- I have been waiting for Frölunda to start.

When the call came, it didn't take many minutes before I accepted, says the team captain.

The 23-year-old, who was responsible for a hat-trick in the premiere, does not believe that playing in the second league will negatively affect her development.

- I still feel young and hopefully have the best years ahead of me.

I come from a time with a tough injury and feel a great opportunity to really put a lot of emphasis on the training on and off the ice and take the chance to file on details.

I just see it as a great opportunity, she says.
