Roger Federer retires.
With a statement on his social networks, one of the best tennis players in history announced that he will not play again.
His last tournament will be the Laver Cup, a competition that he has sponsored from the beginning and that will be held next week.
"I am 41 years old and I must admit that it is time to finish my career," he admitted in his meaningful announcement, both in audio and in writing.
"The last three years have been a challenge for me due to injuries and operations. I have worked hard to be able to return to my best form, but I also know the limitations of my body and the messages it has sent me have been clear", adds the Swiss.
