Duplantis tops the list with 1,601 points ahead of 200-meter runner Noah Lyles, who obliterated the legendary Michael Johnson's USA record, the classic 19.32 from the 1996 Olympic final in Atlanta, which was then a world record, when he won the World Cup final in 19.31.

On the women's side, World Cup 100m winner Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is one ahead of Jamaican compatriot Shericka Jackson.

Extra tickling is that they will try to meet in a duel over 100 meters next season.

- I would beat you, Duplantis promised when they met before the Diamond League gala in Brussels.

His official 100m personal best is 10.69 from 2018 while Fraser-Pryce's personal best is 10.60 from last year.

"I'm much faster now"

- But I'm much faster now than I was five years ago, replied "Mondo" and miscalculated by a year.

Notably, Sydney McLaughlin is only fourth on the list after her massive 400m hurdles world record of 50.68.

However, she competed very sparingly during the season.

Besides the World Championships and the US Championships, both held at Hayward Field in Oregon, she only competed in Philadelphia, Nashville and in a Continental League gala in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, a few weeks after the World Championships.

She did not participate in the Diamond League and very rarely competes in Europe.
