THE ESSENTIAL

  • Caroline Garcia faces Ons Jabeur in the semi-final of the US Open this Thursday night (1:00 a.m. French time).

  • The Frenchwoman, winner of three tournaments this summer and who has not lost a set since the start of the New York fortnight, is walking on water at the moment.

  • Semi-finalist of the American Grand Slam for the first time in her career, she finds on her way Ons Jabeur, 5th player in the world and finalist of the last Wimbledon.

  • Garcia can become only the second tricolor player in history to play in a final at the US Open, after Mary Pierce in 2005.

.: To wait, I offer you a homemade pap on the essential and discreet Bertrand Perret, the man behind the resurrection of Garcia.

Fun fact, he had worked before alongside... Ons Jabeur.

US Open: "A very good coach who does not monopolize the player" ... Bertrand Perret, the coach who revived Garcia

5:00 p.m.: The challenges

We didn't want to get too excited at the start of the tournament, for fear of hurting him, but there we can no longer pretend.

Caro Garcia is racing towards its first Grand Slam title, and it sends shivers down our spines.

There are still two steps to take, of course, and these are obviously the hardest.

But to see how the Frenchwoman has knocked everyone out since the start of the fortnight – and even from Cincinnati -, it's hard not to believe it hard as iron.

She never beat Ons Jabeur in six games (including four in the juniors)?

We were saying the same thing before her round of 16 against Riske, and the American only scored five games.

Nobody can stop “flying Caro”.

Not true ?

>> Hop hop hop we motivate ourselves, meet at 1:00 am (French time) to push behind Caro!
