Violent clashes broke out on Thursday between German and Nice supporters inside the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice, leaving several injured, before the Europa League Conference match between OGC Nice and FC Cologne.

The kick off of the match has been postponed to an indefinite time.

The kick-off of the Europa League Conference meeting between OGC Nice and FC Cologne, scheduled for 6.45 p.m., has been postponed to an indefinite time, following violent clashes in the stands between Nice and German supporters, announced the stadium announcer.

"A crisis meeting is underway," added the Allianz Riviera speaker in Nice, without further details.

The two clubs are to face each other in the first day of Group D of the Europa League Conference, the smallest of the three European football cups.

Several hundred hooded supporters of Cologne, out of the more than 8,000 present in the Ray tribune, invaded the presidential tribune, or Ségurane tribune, to go to battle with the Nice supporters, installed in the popular southern tribune.

Several people were injured in the clashes before the police intervened, AFP journalists observed.
