The Swedish national team rider was banned earlier this week for two years by the international equestrian sports federation, FEI.

According to chairman Ulf Brömster, the Swedish Equestrian Federation conducts a continuous review of its security work.

- We have taken many steps in terms of the proactive work and we have developed the possibilities for the reactive, that is, when something happens.

We are positive that reports are coming in, so that we can act, he says and continues:

- There is more to learn, but there is a tightening of all security work and penalties for any violations of it.

At the press conference, the association's representatives were asked why the investigation into the national team rider has taken several months.

The report against the national team rider came in in May this year and the investigation is being carried out by the legal committee.

The chairman of the committee, CG Leissner, believes that they could not have been faster.

- Sometimes things that we cannot influence can cause it to drag on, but I do not feel a guilty conscience that through carelessness, omission or lethargy we would have reduced the speed of any ongoing case that we have had.

The Swedish federation's investigation is ongoing and a possible consequence, if the rider is judged guilty of what the rider is suspected of, is that the rider's license will be revoked.
