The Golf WC is considered an amateur competition.
The men laid the groundwork for the medal by playing their way up from eleventh place to the lead through 14 under par on the third day.
On the final day at Le Golf National, the Swedish team finally found themselves defeated by the Italian team who were two strokes better on the final day and finished on 32 under par.
Sweden was 31 under par in total and the Swedish silver team included Tobias Jonsson, Ludvig Åberg and Adam Wallin and the trio was coached by Jonnie Eriksson.
Third was the USA.
