In June, SVT's Russia correspondent Bert Sundström was there when Jonas Jerebko played the final match in the Russian league playoffs.

CSKA Moscow, known as the team of the Russian army, lost the final against Zenit St. Petersburg.

Jonas Jerebko was then clear that he did not want to comment on the club selection, which has been met with great criticism and got him suspended from the Swedish national team.

- Now I'm going to go home to my family and see my children, whom I haven't seen in a few months, he said to SVT Sport.

"Club known for its professionalism"

Since then, Jerebko has been silent.

But after watching Sweden's victory against Israel, he went to the training hall and later spoke out on Instagram.

“Seeing my guys beat Israel made me go straight to the hall.

A fantastic match of the future of Swedish basketball".

He also opens up about why he chose to move to Russia even though they just launched an invasion of Ukraine.

“I was given a great opportunity to continue my career with a club known for its professionalism.

I went there to win and play for one of Europe's best coaches.

Unfortunately, it didn't go all the way".

Got a lot of hate

Since the move, he has received a lot of hate.

“I've been away from social media after all the hate I've received from a basketball decision I made.

I know people get upset when I say that, but that's how it was."

He ends the post with a hint about the future.

"Keep yourselves updated," he writes.

The 35-year-old is currently without a club.
