At the beginning of the summer, SVT Sport was able to reveal that the swimming association's internal investigation showed widespread dissatisfaction with the national team's operations in Swedish swimming.

New information is now emerging from the report.

In an email to the country's diving associations, which was sent out on Friday and which SVT Sport has seen, what the results show is summarized in more detail.

It states, among other things, that a third of the total of 60 coaches state that they do not dare to express their opinions because they are afraid of reprisals.

"The experience of a culture of silence is seen as one of the challenges of swimming.

The communication is described as private and hierarchical, where only the "innermost circle" can take part in it, and that a few selected people are given various assignments and benefits within the association's activities".

Tell about abuse

It also says that 22 people describe that they have been exposed to various types of abuse, either as an active player and/or as a coach:

"These abuses are predominantly emotional such as discrimination, personal attacks, punishments and threats."

The swimming association's communications manager Anna Hammar says that the email is part of the action plan going forward.

- This is part of the order we have and the plan we have had all along.

That when we were finished with the inventory (the internal survey, editor's note) we would also share the results with Jumping Sweden.

So we will have a follow-up meeting on that and work further forward during the autumn.

The Swimming Association believes that the results of the survey are taken very seriously.

- We take the results that have emerged and the stories of various people very seriously.

We want to work and work so that everyone who chooses to participate in our activities will feel good and feel joy and security in their sports practice.

"Needs to prioritize transparency and inclusion"

In the email to the associations there is also an introductory letter signed by the swimming association's sports manager Ulrika Sandmark and association manager Mikael Jansson.

It describes how they view the results from the internal investigation and how they want to work in the future.

"The results have shown that we need to prioritize working to create a culture of transparency and inclusion (...) We thank the people who chose to participate in the review and take the results that emerged and the stories of different people very seriously,"

it says including.
