THE ESSENTIAL

  • The 10th stage of the Tour de France, 148 km long, takes the peloton from Morzine to Megève on Tuesday.

  • After a welcome day of rest on Monday, the riders will be able to calmly get back on their feet on a very hilly but not very selective course through Haute-Savoie.

  • The ideal opportunity for adventurers to try their luck, before the favorites explain themselves on the high peaks of Wednesday and Thursday.

  • In the general classification, Tadej Pogacar is still the leader, ahead of Jonas Vingegaard (39'') and Geraint Thomas (1'17).

  • The green jersey is firmly on the shoulders of Wout van Aert, while the polka dot jersey, which will surely be the subject of a big fight in the days to come, belongs for the moment to Simon Geschke.

9:30 a.m.: The challenges of the day

After a well-deserved rest day, the Tour riders are back on the road this Tuesday.

The 148 km linking Morzine to Megève will not be too much to get back on your feet, before what awaits the peloton on Wednesday and Thursday.

But before that, you will still have to climb some beautiful climbs (four climbs listed), including the final ramp towards the Megève altiport, not very complicated but terribly long (19 terminals).

We will bet for today on a fairly substantial breakaway of riders who have nothing to play for in the general standings.

Unless Pogacar's competitors decide to shake up the race where they are not expected.

Unlikely, let's face it, but it would be so beautiful...
