The news almost missed the fact that the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recently paid a visit to Kyiv and spoke to the President of Ukraine – that is, before the Pope.

A press release drew our attention to this.

Unfortunately, their content suggested that to this day the IOC does not know what is really bad happening in Ukraine, that so many men, including athletes and coaches, are dying violently or being imprisoned, that so many buildings are collapsing.

It takes all the curving power of the five rings to formulate a message about Thomas Bach visiting a destroyed basketball hall, declaring that his organization is with the "heart" and "mind" of the Olympic community of Ukraine every day that he promised money to help the athletes - without once using the word "Russia" or "aggressive war".

With that, the IOC would not be making any political comments.

It would simply be a statement.

Such maneuvers are spooky.
