The season has been tough for Swedish ski star Charlotte Kalla.

She still has not got a place in the Olympic squad and needs to perform in the Tour de Ski to join.

In Friday's mass start, she had occasional tightness and finally came in 16th place.

- It's great.

Especially when it's so close up.

It's about daily form to be able to join, she says afterwards.

"Be good enough"

Kalla also says:

- It was great fun to compete.

It feels like I mastered it well and was good enough to keep up.

This is the red zone I need to be in to get better.

It gets better for every competition.

Now we are in the lowlands as well, so it was good to get a little extra breath out of the lungs today.

Kalla was just over 25 seconds behind the winner Jessie Diggins.

The Swede started the Tour de Ski by going out in the sprint prologue and came 22nd in the 10 kilometer classic.
