It was a thrilling end to a pre-exciting first match in the handball league.

Kristianstad received Sävehof at home and in the final minutes it looked like it would be a victory for the former.

But the match, which became a thriller in the final stage, score 28-28.

- It was sluggish in the beginning and such, but we got into the match more and more, says eight-goal shooter Ludvig Åström to C More.

- We toil and fight and believe in it one hundred percent, he continues and states that today's match was fun to play.

Kristianstad got off to a good start in the match when they scored the first two goals of the year in the handball league, but shortly afterwards it was Sävehof who would switch up.

After 20 minutes of play, the away team had a 10-9 lead in the summit.

Espen Christensen, who was 40 percent the first 30 minutes, in the Kristianstad goal stood for a lot of parades and kept many balls from his own net when he saved several clear free positions.

And the home team came back.

They turned the match around and took a 13-12 lead at the break.

Close to others as well

It was an even event between two giants throughout the match.

The team took turns scoring and with eight minutes left, Kristianstad had a numerical advantage that they took advantage of.

The team put themselves in a tight lead with 26-25 with just over six minutes left to play and it was Teitur Einarsson who here and there beautifully set his second goal for the evening.

At the position 28-28, Kristianstad took a timeout with 45 seconds left to play.

But it did'nt help.

The home team was close, really close.

A finish was the last thing that happened - and a save by the Sävehof goalkeeper made the final result 28-28.
