The BBC reports that the suspension affects eight players from six Premier League clubs.

Ederson and Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino from Liverpool, Manchester United's Fred, Chelsea's Thiago Silva, and Raphinha from Leeds are the players in question.

It is all because the latest national team gathering is on so-called Fifa dates, and then the clubs have an obligation to release their players if they are called by the respective national team.

The players will be suspended between 10 and 14 September, and thus they will miss next weekend's league matches.

The clubs, in turn, referred to current corona restrictions, where players had to be quarantined for ten days.
