John Guidetti has had very sparse playing time in Alavés the last two seasons.

But in the league premiere at home against Real Madrid, he was on the pitch.

Admittedly not from the start, but the Swede was replaced in the 59th minute in what was then a real uphill for Alavés.

After the first half ended goalless, it took only three minutes into the second half before Karim Benzema gave Real Madrid the lead.

Eight minutes later, Nacho and Alavé's coach Javier Callejo increased the chances to replace John Guidetti to shake life on the offensive.

Orderly punishment

Guidetti also had a good position already after a few minutes on the field when he received a post and turned up and shot.

The finish, however, was not one hundred percent and Thibaut Courtois was able to save.

Sour for Guidetti and sour for Alavés who also got to see Real Madrid make 3-0 on their subsequent attack - again through Karim Benzema.

However, Guidetti remained enterprising.

In the 64th minute he fixed a penalty when he was fouled by Courtois and Joselu managed the penalty in the net.

However, there were no more goals for Alavés at the same time as Real Madrid scored another goal through Junior Vinicius and won 4-1.
