The Bleues in basketball were swept away by the Japanese in the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics on Friday.

The French, greatly disappointed, will try to console themselves by winning the bronze medal against Serbia, for a revenge of the Rio Games five years ago.

Unfortunately for the French basketball players, there was no match on Friday in Tokyo. Les Bleues were beaten to a large extent by the Japanese in the semi-finals of the Olympic Games, seeing their dream of facing Team USA in the final soar. The daughters of Valérie Garnier totally missed their date, especially during a second cataclysmic period.

The Habs will however have little time to digest this immense disappointment, since they will meet Serbia on Sunday to try to win bronze. A reunion against a team that has not been successful in recent years, with a defeat in the bronze match in Rio in 2016 (63-70) and a final lost at the Euro this year (54-63). The France team will therefore have to significantly increase its level of play if it wants to take revenge and win a medal.
