Players representing Japan left Japan on the 29th for the final world qualifying round to be held in Hungary for the chance to qualify for the women's basketball Olympics in Paris.


Captain Saki Hayashi, who responded to an interview before this event, spoke about her determination, saying, ``I definitely want her to win the right to participate and come back.''

On the 29th, Hayashi and head coach Toru Onzuka responded to an interview at Narita Airport before leaving Japan.



Hayashi expressed his confidence, saying, ``I think if we play basketball that is fun to watch, we will definitely win.''



He then expressed his determination, saying, ``I want to aim for three consecutive wins in the final qualifying round and definitely win the right to participate and return home.As captain, I want to lead everyone and fight with a good expression.''



Head coach Onzuka also said, ``There will be pressure, but we want to play our basketball to the best of our ability and win a ticket to the Paris Olympics.''



The 12 members of the Japanese women's basketball team, which won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics, will be selected after training camps and practice matches in Europe.



The world final qualifying round to be held in Hungary will begin on the 8th of next month, with Japan facing Spain in the first match, Hungary in the second match, and Canada in the third match, with the top three teams qualifying for the Olympics.
