Time goes by and legends grow old.

After Rafa betrayed by his body at Roland Garros, it was Roger Federer who suffered the weight of years this afternoon at Wimbledon.

His 15 years difference with the Polish Hurkacz made the Swiss too slow and borrowed to hope for victory (defeat 6-3, 7-6 [4], 6-0).

Worse, by cracking in the tie-break of a second set that he had led 4-1, RodGER let go, swept away in 1:48.

The third set was a formality for the young Eastern Wolf, won by a scathing 6-0.

This is the first time in his career that Federer has collected a bicycle wheel on the London grass.

To make matters worse, he may never set foot there again, having lifted eight trophies at Merton.

Regularly injured in recent years, RodGER will celebrate his 40th birthday at the beginning of August.

In his moments of form, he still plays delicious, romantic and daring tennis, as he showed in the first week of Roland-Garros.

But his body can no longer keep up with the winning three-set marathons over two weeks that the Grand Slams demand.

The Swiss therefore stopped in the quarterfinals in his favorite garden.

And leaves the opportunity to Djoko, qualified in the semifinals against the Canadian Shapovalov, to join him on the record, aiming for a twentieth Grand Slam coronation.
