The first runner started Iida City on the second day of the Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay in Nagano Prefecture, while the locals wearing masks watched over it.

On the morning of the 2nd, about 600 locals gathered in the schoolyard of Kamigo Elementary School in Iida City, which is the starting point of the second day of the torch relay, to take measures against the infection of the new coronavirus such as temperature measurement and masks.

Then, before 10 am, the torch of Ryuta Mine, a talent from Shimojo Village who was the first runner, was lit by a torch and the relay started.

At the venue, children selected from 19 elementary schools in the city ran about 70 meters behind Mr. Mine.

A 46-year-old man from Iida City who visited with his son said, "I'm glad to see the torch up close. There are many people at the venue, but everyone was relieved to take measures against infection such as masks." Was there.

A 6th grade girl who ran behind the torchbearer said, "I had an experience that I could only do once in my life. I was impressed to think that the torch that I saw would travel to other prefectures and go to Tokyo." I did.

The infection of the new corona is spreading again in Nagano prefecture, and the prefectural executive committee and others are calling for thorough infection control measures such as wearing masks when viewing online and cheering along the road.

After that, the torch relay will visit Ina City and Azumino City, and will finish in Matsumoto City at night.
