Senbatsu High School Baseball, which will be held for the first time in two years, opened at Koshien Stadium, and the opening ceremony was held in an unusual format in which only six schools with games on the first day marched.

Senbatsu High School Baseball has been held for the first time in two years since last year's tournament was canceled due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

The opening ceremony was held at Koshien Stadium in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture from 9 am.

Of the 32 participating schools, only 6 schools that had a match on the first day participated to prevent infection, and from the state where they were lined up in the outfield at intervals, they marched to the infield according to the admission march "Paprika".

At the remaining 26 schools, images of the march taken in advance on the school grounds were projected on the vision inside the stadium.

Then, the player oath was served by the captain of Sendai Ikuei High School in Miyagi, Mr. Shimanuki, who mentioned that it has been 10 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake this month. For the next 10 years, we will continue to move forward to help the new Japan. I pledge to play with a lot of thought in each throw at Koshien for two years. " I swore strongly.

In this year's tournament, the maximum number of spectators will be 10,000, and athletes and tournament officials will be thoroughly protected against infection by undergoing PCR tests in advance.

The tournament will be held for 13 days, including rest days, and if all goes well, the final will be held on the 31st of this month.
