Manchester United condemns the racist abuses against its players

Manchester United, second in the Premier League, called today for drastic measures against "idiots", who spread racist insults targeting French striker Anthony Martial and defender Axel Tuanzibi.

Yesterday, Manchester United suffered a surprise defeat by last-placed Sheffield United 1-2 at Old Trafford in the twentieth stage of the league, where it failed to regain the lead from its neighbors Manchester City.

The defeat sparked a wave of criticism directed at Manchester United players, including racist abuse targeting defender Tuanzibi, who hit the thigh with a shot by Oliver Burke and hugged the net of Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea, announcing the winning goal for the guests, and striker Martial.

Some posted racist terms and emoji of the monkeys in their comments about the loss on their Instagram accounts.

"Everyone at Manchester United is disgusted with the racist abuse that the players received on social media after last night's match," the club said in a press release.
