The Swedish racing star has completed two stages of the Dakar Rally.

Together with the map reader Emil Bergqvist, he drove in as the 18th driver on the second stage, after 45 miles of driving in the desert.

This puts the duo in 13th place in the lightweight vehicle class, 45 minutes behind leader Francisco Contardo from Chile.

In the car and motorcycle class, respectively, it is French and Spanish in the lead.

Stephane Peterhansel leads the car class with just under six minutes ahead of the Spaniard Carlos Sainz, while the Spaniard Joan Barreda Bort has the leading position in the motorcycle class with a seven minute difference to the American Ricky Brabec.

The rally continues on Wednesday.
