It's over for Diego Costa with Atlético de Madrid.
The Hispano-Brazilian striker terminated his contract with the Colchoneros six months before its term, the club announced on Tuesday via press release.

Repeated injuries
The 24-cap center forward with Spain suffered numerous injuries in 2020: he had been operated on for a cerebral disc herniation at the end of 2019, then contracted Covid-19 at the start of the season , and recently suffered from acute phlebitis in his right leg.
In total, he has missed twelve matches since mid-October.
Since joining the club in 2006 at just 17, the striker has played 215 official matches in two stages (2010-2014 then January 2018 - January 2020), scoring 83 goals and providing 36 assists, said the club.
In the meantime, he played for Chelsea (2014-2018) and won the Premier League twice.
With the Colchoneros, Diego Costa won a Spanish championship (2013-2014), a Copa del Rey (2013), a Europa League (2018) and two European Super Cups (2010 and 2018).
